This Week’s Japanese Game Releases: Onechanbara Origin, Yo-kai Watch 4++, more

Onechanbara Origin for PlayStation 4 and Yo-kai Watch 4++ for PlayStation 4 and Switch are the highlights of this week’s Japanese game releases.

Onechanbara Origin is a complete remake of The Onechanbara and The Onechanbara 2, which were originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004 and 2005. Featuring renewed main character designs by Katsumi Enami, the high-speed action game tells a new interpretation of the story of sisters Aya and Saki, who hate and want to kill each other.

Yo-kai Watch 4++ is an updated version of Yo-kai Watch 4: We’re All Looking Up at the Same Sky, which was originally only released for Switch. Now also on PlayStation 4, the updated release adds an online multiplayer mode, new areas and boss yo-kai, new quests, new yo-kai to befriend, and more. Users who already own the original release for Switch can download the new content via a paid add-on due out on the same day.
